Stories of Real People and Real Coffee

Are you an entrepreneur?

Are you an entrepreneur? Are you one of those people who always had that entrepreneurial spirit? Have you always wondered about work at home options? Have you looked at a variety of businesses, maybe even tried a few? I was that way too. In fact, a lot of people in the circles I run in have called themselves ‘serial entrepreneurs’. We can’t help it. We want more out of life than an 8-5 job. And not everyone is like that. There are a variety of reasons for why people get involved in entrepreneurship, and it certainly has risks and rewards. If you are considering going into your business for yourself, here are some things to consider.   Lots of sweat   Being an entrepreneur is not easy. The funny thing is that we all think, “Oh, if I work for myself, I will be so happy.” The truth is it is hard work. In fact, it is harder work than we likely have ever done. And yet, at the same time, it is easy. It is easy because we are engaged with a passion. We are responsible for every dollar that comes in. It doesn’t come in from punching a time clock though. It now comes in based on our efforts, our strategy, and our own discipline.   I am responsible! Oh, crap, I am responsible!   So our own efforts, strategy and discipline can be very empowering, but can also be very scary. I think of it this way: I get up every day at 7 and go to work at a job and every day make $100... read more

Do you want coffee that’s good or fast? How about both?

I am reminded of the old service saying: This model says, pick 2 out of the options of ‘Good’, ‘Fast’ and ‘Cheap’. And overall, I do think that is true, but not always. Instead I like this model: We have options. We can chose: Option 1 Option 2 Both Neither   With Organo Gold we have options. You really can choose good, fast and cheap. Each cup of freshly perfectly brewed coffee is under $3 per cup.   Good In the past, people loved the convenience of instant coffee, but the flavor wasn’t as full bodied and satisfying as fresh brewed. With Organo, you still get rich flavors with the added benefit of the ganoderma herb. And talk about choices! Just some of the coffee flavors we offer are African Red, Caramel Vanilla, Columbian Roast, Latte, and Mocha. And for those who don’t care for coffee, we also offer Rodeo Chai, Green Tea, Red Tea, Black Tea and Hot Chocolate. We also offer the herb separately for those who want the benefits in addition to their their drink.   Fast No more stale coffee! Enjoy a fresh cup every time you want one with our single serving brewing cups and sachets. Simply brew your coffee in your single cup machine, or add hot water to a mug that has your favorite flavor. In fact, if you are the type of person who uses a Thermos for your coffee, you can now fill it with hot water instead of coffee, and pour yourself a fresh cup each and every time you are ready for one.   Cheap I really am... read more

What is Ganoderma and why it is in our Coffee? Ganoderma lucidum is a mushroom known for its health and longevity properties, and is the active supplement found in Organo Gold(r) coffees. It is used in traditional Chinese medicine, and across Asian, and is gaining popularity in America. It is a large flat mushroom, also known as the Reishi mushroom or the Lingzi mushroom. The Ganoderma Lucidum mushroom has a fan like cap which gives it a unique look. The herb can be found in several forms, including extracts, powders and capsules. “Among cultivated mushrooms, G. lucidum is unique in that its pharmaceutical rather than nutritional value is paramount,” says the NCBI.  The National Center for Biotechnology (NCBI) provides information on biomedical and genomic information for health and science. Ganoderma Lucidum is available commercially in a variety of forms and from different parts of the mushroom including the fruit body, mycelia and spores. The texture is that of wood and its coloring can vary from red to yellow to white. Spores are located under the mushroom cap from the gills or pores and are the germinating portion of the mushroom. Some companies produce Ganoderma Lucidum using plastic bags, which is a less potent, if not ineffective sourcing of the mushrooms medicinal properties. Just as any growing herb, the more natural it is, the better it will be. These healthier coffees source the organic ganoderma lucidum to add as a nutritional supplement to the variety of beverages they offer. They create a fine, tasteless powder by sterilizing, drying and processing the mushroom. The coffee, teas and hot cocoa products are then available in a variety of flavors and are... read more
